Petrol Porsche Boxster: what changes with a remap

With a petrol engine the remap works through the ECU's ignition, fuelling and turbo boost tables. Re-calibrating them within safe limits releases power that is already there, rather than adding anything to the engine.

Porsche Boxster 220(986) against other Boxster engines

Of the 10 petrol Boxster engines in our data, this one comes 2nd for power gain, which is 2 bhp above the Boxster petrol average of 23 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 25 bhp and 45 Nm sits below that benchmark.
