How ECU remapping works on a diesel Kia Cee'd

The gains from remapping a diesel come from the engine management software rather than new parts: injection, boost and torque limits are re-mapped, which is why torque improves most and why the car often feels easier to drive at lower revs.

For reference, CRDi is the Hyundai and Kia name for their common-rail direct-injection diesels.
